I will wager that no one thought for a moment the $400 worth of business tools came without strings attached. Of course there are conditions and I couldn't explain them in the email. The previous company expecting me to periodically travel alone with a female employee. I actually did this the first couple of times but decided I would not do that anymore. I got into hot water with my direct manager over this. Many verses in the Bible (Joseph and Potiphar's wife, 2 Tim 2:22, Proverbs 22:3, Jeremiah 17:9, 1 Thessalonian 5:22, etc.) seem to suggest that I should not put myself in that kind of situation. 2. Our company president (who about three years ago encouraged me to cheat on my wife at a sales meeting) was indicted late last year on child pornography and was eventually fired. 3. A few female customers/potential customers coming on to me. 4. A vast increase in the number of female employees (particularly sales reps and marketing specialists) that would result in potentially very awkward and morally compromising situations. Nothing against female employees, but applying Daniel 5 to this situation, I "saw the handwriting on the wall" and believed this was God's way of preparing me to leave my former employer. While I have not yet found a full-time job, I trust that God will lead me to a new one for His glory soon. With over 10 years' successful outside sales and account management experience and a Bachelor's in Business, I believe that He is preparing me for something better. Please do pray for me as I seek His guidance in the next phase of my career! Thanks.
