Adversity and Opportunity are Joined at the Hip
September 6th, 2007 | Michael Q. Pink
I don’t want to leave the topic of adversity without sharing with you a very positive perspective. I have learned that adversity and opportunity are always - not most of the time - but always, joined at the hip! No matter what the circumstance, there is always something of high value that can be gained from it. The greater the adversity, the greater the opportunity.
When you find yourself in the grip of adversity, count it all joy knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing. (James 1:4) The end result of adversity can be sweet fruit indeed.
Be purposeful. Look for the opportunity. Ask God to show you the potential reward. Those who solve problems are of high value to any society and oftentimes that value has even a financial benefit to it. When you get good at solving problems, look for others who have problems and ask God for how to solve their problems. That’s what good businesses do. They solve problems other people can’t or won’t. When you do that well, adversity can be a most lucrative opportunity for you. Count it all joy.

Excellent views on adversity. I often hear people say “God will not allow more put on you than you can bear.” I respectfully disagree with that view. I believe He allows more to be put on us than we can bear….so that we will then trust in HIS strength and not our own. HE is always able to bear our burdens/adversities. As Major Ian thomas said: “We can’t , He never said we could. HE can, HE always said HE would.”

That is why we should welcome adversity. Adversity is what helps us become more like Christ. Adversity is one way God shapes and molds us into His image.
Please pray for me as I have taking a promotion to take over a territory in the Panhandle of Florida. Pray that I will be used by God to show others who and where my hope is. That I will be a light among the unsaved and an encouragement for the believers. As adversity comes and it will, I will count it all joy.

I wholeheartedly agree! God does not send adversity to make us strong, but, since it is in this world, he advises us to use it to make us strong. It is sort of like weight training, the equipment does not make one better, but someones use of that equipment will. Managing resitance is everything as a business leader. That poise under pressure is the embryo of entrepreneruship. I once heard someone say, ‘it’s not how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep going’. Winners are just loosers who kept trying.
Remaining obedient to Gods vision to ones business in spite of contrary pressure, will cause the business owner to develop, and thereby be enabled to take the company where before he or she could not. As Gods people begin to use adversity to assist thier spiritual training, they will become more elite against any enemy onslaught in both business and life! Thanks Mike!

Thank you Michael for this post. I am dead-smack in the middle of a trial and hearing that the trial of your faith works patience gives me comfort because in the end, God says that we will be complete, lacking nothing (or any good thing).
My prayer is that I embrace my trials for the effect that it will ultimately have upon my life.
Thanks again.

This is the time for us to be aware of such a time as this, that the body of Christ is being awaken to a level which only God can put us. We only need to be sensitive in dealing with the situation in our life and allow the Holy Spirirt to lead us in a place of worship, even in our limited mind, most of the time we lost the tract that God is developing in us and divert His plan in our life. What we can do in this area, is to ask God for divine wisdom, because He always give it to us, without measur James 1:5. We need to consider that trials in life is just a part of the plan of God for us to be sensitive in doing His perfect will, we might be side tract but, remember He is always there for us, to be aware that He will never leave us nor forsake us, our Jehovah Shamma. Father , thank you for this ministry to be able to challenge the Body of Christ into righteousness, in Jesus name, Amen.

GOD IS GOOD
God the great problem solver. if one has a car and the car has got a problem which needs to be fixed, it would be wise to take the car to the right garage you bought the car from rather than taking it to the other garage of different name or brand because the original garage would know the exact problem and fix accordingly but the other would just think about a certain problem and fix it after some time the same problem occurs,so, the same thing applies if we have problems we have to tell and face God who is our creator because is the one who will give us the answer rather than telling people who will give us the wrong solution or bring our problems to worse
Godd is the solver, the only thing we have to do is to allow him to rule our lives
Amen
