Rock, Paper, Scissors… What Are You Counting On?
September 13th, 2007 | Michael Q. Pink
“Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil.” The Greek word for wiles is “methodeia”, from which we get our English word, method. A method or system is defined as “a group of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent elements forming a complex whole - A condition of harmonious, orderly interaction - An organized and coordinated method; a procedure.” The devil uses systems and methodology to fight us and we react as if it were a lucky punch. We get drawn into things over and over again and never recognize the system he has built into our lives to keep us defeated. Scissors beats paper every time.
Now stay with me… Geese fly in a “V” formation when they migrate. They are not trying to spell something out for us. They are simply in agreement with an unseen system in the air which makes the airflow smoother, the turbulence lesser and the flight easier for the flock as they head south for the winter. Consider the sea… Psalm 8:8 among other places tells us that there are “paths” in the sea. The sea has a system. Unseen as it is, it nevertheless is a system. If you’re a sailor and don’t see it, know it and cooperate with it, you will be fighting against it and be at a disadvantage.
If you are fighting against a system, but think you are up against random acts, you will lose. Recognize the system and you have a chance at defeating it. Better yet, find God’s system for dealing with the devil’s system and you will win. Most of us don’t have a system for living or a system for our business. We improvise as it comes our way and often we get sucker punched and don’t even see it coming. In business, this can spell financial disaster. So what are you doing about that? I, for one, count on Total Integration for my systems and recommend you do as well. I didn’t discover it or create it. It’s not mine. It’s not cheap, but so what. Fighting the system without a superior system is extremely risky and very expensive. It’s time to change. Let’s do it together. Rock beats scissors every time.

Thank for posting this Michael. I will chose this day to stand firm in the LORD. I have placed on HIS armor and am created in HIS likeness. I am fighting for the enforcement of the original court order from last year’s divorce which was my former husband choice. He has failed to comply with the original court order and was found in willful contempt last month. I am working in an office and also in the process of beginning to build my own business. I have two direct sales options available to me and am seeking the LORD’s guidance each step of the way. I have to stand in the power of His might. I have to trust that in my weakness HE will show Himself strong. Thank you for the reminder of who and what are we going to trust in. I will stand on the ROCK!!!
Blessings,
Shelly
