Through the Gate in 2008
January 2nd, 2008 | Michael Q. Pink
“Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the armor of kings, to open before him the two-leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron: And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.” (Isa 45:1-3)
We stand at the gate looking at 2008 and wondering what it will hold. I believe there are many treasures hidden in darkness waiting for you and me to discover. They are not lying on the path but rather in the hidden places, requiring light and diligence to find. The treasures are not dark in and of themselves, but are hidden in darkness until someone brings them to light. Furthermore, we are not speaking of a single treasure, though that would be blessing enough, but treasures, expressing an incalculable amount, more than can be expended.
Two things I will solemnly tell you this year. The first is that there is great treasure lying undiscovered all around us, hidden in darkness, waiting for the light to come and reveal it. Will you be the light? It could be something like the great diamond find in Canada that rivals Africa. It could be an invention, a cure for cancer, alternative fuels, a software product, a book, a song or a new way of doing an old thing. I promise you this year, they will be found. That is beyond contestation. The question is… Will you be one who finds it?
That brings me to my second solemn point… I believe God wants to entrust those treasures to His children. But we have to be seekers, searching early for wisdom, watching daily at His gates. As we grow in Him and in His wisdom, we can be trusted with the treasures and they will be used to bless the world, not merely fill our bank account. Are you ready this year to receive the treasures of darkness? Then seek Him first and foremost. Pursue Him diligently. You will find along the way the treasures hidden in darkness reserved for such a time as this.

This is a great encouragement on my work of making arcs for growing crystals in different materials. I completely agree that there are treasures of darkness. In fact there are many many more than I will ever get to look into in my lifetime.

Hi Michael
I believe this is the year of breakthrough, it has come out in some of the Elijah Ministries teachings and through other prophets. It is seen in 2 Samuel 5:17-25. I have had many words from the Lord from members of the Body of Christ since 1980 when I c ame into the born again experience, basically saying that I must write the vision and make it plain on tablets and write the vision for the work of the temple. Also that I would lead His people! Please pray about this for me. I am in the process of getting my story finished and hope to have it in print soon. My website is up and running and on it are details of my contact nos and e.mail address. The website address is www.health.co.uk
Blessings

“not merely fill our bank account.”
Or not at all. He may allow you to lose it all for His sake. Whatever it is, He will do above all we ask or think. Sometimes His ways or not our ways. If you were to lose it all, would you be satisfied in Him?
May we all find true happiness in knowing God and completely satisfied in Him in 08. I know that is my desire.

I ministered this word 23Dec’07 at our 1100am svc and again on New yars Eve. In the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses let every word be established. Praise The Lord for he alone can grant us sufficiency always in all things, that we might subdue nations and become suppliers for the Kingdom.

Hi Michael and Friends,
Gen 1:3 Then God said, “Let there be light” and there was light. In verse 4 it was mentioned that God saw the light good and He began His work. I agree that there are treasures in the darkness, but then we need the light to work our way through the darkness so to find the treasures. Imagine all the potentials glittering as we allow God to shine through the darkness. Potentials that we didn’t see, but now we see because of the light; those potentials that make us become whatever we ought to be.
While I had my conversation with the Lord this morning, it came to my mind that prior to creation there must have been no light anywhere in existence except the glory of the Living God shining forth as the sun in Heaven. Then He made some of the suns and the stars to emit their own light for a while(heaven and earth will pass away…). Why the light? I believe the Lord wants us to shine forth as light so that we can work. We can’t work in the darkness, but there are treasures in the darkness.
Now we see the light, and we work in year 2008 so much better than before. Happy new year.
