Here’s What Love Has To Do With It

March 19th, 2008 | Michael Q. Pink

Recently I was doing some corporate training at a hotel in Atlanta. It was probably the best, most experienced group of professionals I’ve had the privilege to train. Somewhere around day three of the training, I decided to open the meeting with a video clip of a worship song that I found particularly moving. One of the participants arrived early and introduced me to another clip of a short skit.

I thought it might be hokey so I watched it before everyone came and was quite affected by it. It was a powerful skit about the love of God. Now we were there for sales training and I was going to show them a clip about the love of God. I felt the confirmation of the Holy Spirit and let it rip. When this short clip was over, there was mascara everywhere and not a dry eye in the room. It really changed the tone of the rest of the week.

That’s when I saw just how relevant the love of God is to everyone in every situation whether they are looking for that or not. After being touched by his love through this video the spiritual climate intensified, teamwork flourished and the entire team was connected in a way that no one expected. I recommend you take five minutes and soak this up right now.

Each Easter season I’m blown away trying to wrap my mind around what Jesus did 2000 years ago. This video is a very potent reminder of the powerful work of Jesus! Thanks for sharing it!

  3. Elizabeth c-us Says:

Great video. I watched and am still crying. Praise the Lord Jesus!

  4. Ray c-us Says:

awesome …. we are in a war everyday and called to stand for the Living God. As we go into the world, realize we never walk alone, yet few are with us. We are called to spread the gospel of Love, not to conform others to our institutionalized religion. just awesome … thanks for sharing this, I have already sent it out to several brothers and my children.

  5. Kara c-us Says:

Michael, I need to know how I can share this video at the end of a lock in I am doing with (female) youth next month. One of the young women has struggled with “cutting,” and needs to feel the love of Christ. Her poor mother is one of the planners of this and just this month she has returned to the cutting after being in our planning sessions with her mom, and all over a boy. My nieces will be there and my brother has abandoned them and their mom after a lot of emotional abuse and they NEED this. What do I have to do to be able to share this (legally) with these girls. As an abstinence educator this is powerful for Christian youth! Bless you for sharing this with us!

  7. Kara c-us Says:

Greeting Michael and thank you! The LORD has impressed me to share with you that you and your people (Cheryl, David..) are my Aaron and Hur at times when HE needs to speak to me. See Exodus 17 as it is one of my favorite ways to look at the Body of Christ. I think it is the BEST “type and shadow” we have about how the Body needs to function! Blessings back! (Is it not nice to be able to shower the brethren/body with blessings when the world is so easily led to curse one another?)

  8. Rosanne c-us Says:

Thank you for sharing this. How important to remember we are created to commune with Him and He is the Way. In Him all is finished and completed and we walk as His anointed ones and all is defeated.

  9. David G. Johnson c-us Says:

In case you’re wondering, the band is called Lifehouse, and the song is called “Everything” from their project called “No Name Face.”

Powerful stuff. And… Michael, I know you tried to warn us, but I had no tissues in reach. Not fair.

    Thanks for sharing.

  10. Brett Clancy c-us Says:

Even though you warned us - I watched this in my office and had to close the door so no one could here me getting choked up!

    Wow!

  11. Charles R. Miville c-us Says:

The video points out powerfully that if we don’t challenge our youth with real, radical, life giving Christianity-the devil & his demon thugs-drugs, illicit sex and violence will come in and lie, steal and destroy. We need to wake up and embrace our teens with God’s grace as we run along side them in the race for the great and high calling of God in Jesus Christ.

  12. jaco c-za Says:

    Michael,

The above video is powerful and I’ve used it in a few christian gatherings before. You also might want to have a look at http://www.ignitermedia.com - they have some awesome videos: 99 Balloons causes me to cry everytime I see it, That’s my King inspires and of course, Team Hoyt chokes up the roughest of my colloeagues

  13. Moises c-us Says:

I have seen this before about a year ago. At that time I was looking for answers & direction. I have been through so much emotionally & mentally at that time, It open my eyes!. I sit here again watching this film a year later it caught me again at my weakest point. I am feeling emotionally & mentally drained. My wife constant has health issues she’s 32 & my son was hit by a car in Oct of 07′+ I have 3 daughters ages 1,3 &7. My wife lost her job, I am the only one working 40hrs a week. I cook when I can, I clean, change the oil, change diapers to help my wife, I cut the grass, I will do anything and everything I can for my family until the day I can not no more… Thank you for the film…

  14. Kathy Bayles c-us Says:

Hang in there Moises. These things to shall pass. Focus

  15. Julia Rajaonarison c-fr Says:

I have been through financial lack, emotional hurts and spiritual confusion since three months. I have also difficulty of having balance in waiting for the Lord to fulfill His promises and taking action on what I can do. I almost had no sleep last night and here I am opening my inbox and getting such message as this video.
Woaw! How great and aweful is our Lord! It is really what I need to move forward through those hard circumstances as a clear message: I have to call upon my God and Savior as well as fight and run into Him amidst adversity and trials. Then He manifests His presence, empowers me and help me break through by taking on Him all attacks targeted to me. Praise the Lord and glory to His holy name!
Thank you for the video. Our Lord Jesus’ blessings upon you and your ministry.

  16. Rodney c-us Says:

    BIBLE MEDITATION:
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” Romans 6:22

    DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
When Jesus Christ comes into your life He changes you. Maybe you have a problem with drugs or alcohol. Maybe you struggle with lust, fear, doubt, or self-pity. Maybe you’re a slave to public opinion or perfectionism. But I want to tell you that the Jesus Christ who set Adrian Rogers free is the Jesus Christ who will set you free. However, our freedom in Jesus Christ isn’t the privilege to do what we want. Instead it is the glorious, abundant, supernatural power to do what we ought. It is saving grace that sets us free. It is sustaining grace that keeps us free.

    ACTION POINT:
Bow before the Lord and thank Him for the freedom you’ve been given through the great price of Calvary.

  17. Duane c-unknown Says:

First time here. After reading the email title, (what’s love got to do with it) watching the video, then reading some of the posts. First the title, then the song in my memory from Tina Turner and her song What Love’s got to do with it. I always say, it has everything to do with it because God is Love, then i say may you find him now.

After reading the posts, i thought back again to a sermon a week ago from my church a visiting pastor, the titled message “In the Middle”.

Jesus will meet you in the middle of your storm or conflict in your life, just when you think all else will fail you, don’t give up on him because he is there to pick u up. Just a couple of passages for reference.

    Matthew 8:21-26; 14:22-34.

    Peace be with you!
    Duane

  18. Michael c-us Says:

Welcome Duane. Thanks for contributing. Good stuff.

  19. Thorunn c-us Says:

  20. Frida c-us Says:

this was so powerful. does anyone know where i can get the info to reproduce it at my church using our youth? I would love to put this performance on with them. thanks and God bless.

  21. jaco c-za Says:

    Sure,

Yuo need to have to browser windows open, find this video on Youtube.com, copy the address in the ‘address bar’ and paste this address in in the form field on this page http://www.downloader9.com/ and click ‘get youtube video’. It will save it as a file without an extension. You need to change the extension to .flv afterwards to play in a flash player.

If you want to play it in your windows media player, you need to download the following driver installation pack: K-Lite Codec Pack and can be found here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm as a free download,

  23. James c-us Says:

  24. another Kara c-us Says:

Excellent video! I just actually watched this as my 6 yr old came over to ask questions. Today has been an amazing day of answering questions with her about salvation. Now, my friend sent this to me and I got to explain that all of these things will try to come into your life and you need Jesus! She said, “Oh, mom - that was so neat. It almost made me cry”
Love it! God is so real to these little hearts as well. Just thought I’d share.
