Enough Is Enough

April 30th, 2008 | Michael Q. Pink

“and the children of Israel went out with defiance.” Ex 14:8

Not that their defiance lasted very long. In a matter of hours when Pharaoh’s army came after them they were greatly afraid, cried out to God and blamed Moses. Their tough defiant talk — when challenged — turned to fear and tears. Israel had a lot to learn, but this was just the beginning.

It seems their defiance and determination lasted only as long as things were going their way. Their oppressors were freeing them and loading them down with silver and gold and precious stones. They probably felt a sense of entitlement that the Egyptians owed them this and in one sense they did. But when Pharaoh’s army approached, they lost their nerve. They doubted their decision. They regretted their choice. They looked for someone to blame.

How many times have you taken a stand, made a decision to get out of debt, start a new business, save up some money, lose weight etc., only to retreat from that position when challenged? If you are going to attempt something worthwhile, expect to be challenged. That comes with the territory. Quit doubting. Don’t look for someone or something (like a tough economy) to blame.

You have the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwelling in you! You can do this! There is a new breed of Christian arising and you can be numbered among them. They are intent on taking their Promised Land. They are ready to face down the giants and step into their destiny. Care to join them?

Agreed… There is actually more than inconvenience and discomfort to be overcome at work here. Opposition in anything worthwhile is a strategic piece that will sanction the true nature of our hearts. Am I a warrior or a quitter? God will not entrust his assests to the later. Warring is part of God’s order as it trains, mentors and qualifies those who aim at responding to the call of God. Becoming preceeds overcoming and strengh points to victory. We have too often been dulled out to the need of raising the warrior within us and now in the kingdom age we live in there will be no fooling around. You either are willing to accept the rules of engagement or not. We are not reversing to brutal force, but character force which reflects the true nature of Christ within us.

This is really good. We need to call those things which are not as if they are. We walk by faith and not by sight and stand on the unchangeable word of God for all of our situations. Proclamation into the heavenly realms is so so important because it will change how we think and speak ultimately. I think some call this prophecy!

    AMEN!
Your word was timely and a very much needed reminder.

  4. Lorisa c-us Says:

Wow! Needed to hear that this morning! Thanks, Michael!

  5. Kara L. Harris c-us Says:

FATHER, Help me not to be a whiner, but a refined one for YOUR glory! May I continue to walk straight, no turning back, towards YOUR face. Amen. Thanks Michael.

    What a great post!

This also has to do with the parable of the seed. The seed is the Word of God. When the seed falls on shallow ground, it sprouts up quickly. But when something comes to oppose it, because it has no roots, it dies off.

It’s the same with us. When we take the dream that God has given us, do we take the time to have it rooted? Sure we are happy when we perceive it! Who wouldn’t be? But it takes more than the initial spark to start a fire in you to press on.

If we can learn to take God’s Word and root it in ourselves, no matter how much heat comes at us, the promise of the seed of the Word shall come to pass.

It’s not a matter of it, but when.

Thank you very much for this post Michael! This is very timely as well, just as another poster stated above.

I have been getting my business up and running now for the last 5 years with no tangible results, at least in the natural. We have to believe in the supernatural, the unseen!

Lately there has been strong opposition in our business, but just keeping the FAITH is what it’s all about. The Bible teaches us about FAITH! Seems funny how there are people against the Word Of Faith preachers,etc…..

Anyway, I pray for you Michael as God has really placed something in your heart to lead us other entrepreneurs and it has really been a blessing to me, the short time I have been subscribed to your blog! Thank you and may God Bless and prosper you!

Michael, I agree with you I have been claiming and rejecting the fact that we are in recession. However, I now have 5 homes in foreclosure and 23 lots that could be there. I believe, and stand on Gods word that the Righteous will prosper even in famine. I need a suddenly. I need Gods word to become a personal word for me. Thanks Bill

  9. Raquel c-us Says:

    Praying for you, Bill!

Specifically that The Blessing named in Duet. 28 will manifest in your life. According to the Word, everything you put your hand to God commands The Blessing on it (which is His empowerment for success).

The Blessing of Abraham is for you to, as you are grafted into the family. The Covenant continues so that the LORD may establish (which in the original language means to continue) the covenant He made with Abraham about his desendants. You are Abraham’s descendant by adoption through Christ, and in God’s family, adoption is as good as the son!

Part of The Blessing includes favor, wisdom, and understanding. I’m praying for that to!

    In His Grip,

    Raquel

  10. Donna Nefferdorf c-us Says:

We each have a choice to make this day…to walk in faith, or walk in fear! We can continue to be a “victim” or become a VICTOR! God is bringing us to the END OF OUR FAITH, where we walk with Him, totally trusting that He knows where He is taking us today, and in all our tomorrows. He lives in us, and will guide us with His Word, and by His Spirit. We will have everything we need, because WE HAVE HIM! His Word must be our truth. We must live believing in the promises of HIS Word, and not by the reality of what we can see with our natural eyes. Look at HIM and not at your circumstances! Believe that with God, ALL THINGS WILL BE POSSIBLE in your life! It’s time to slay our giants within, and without! His Word will be the only weapon you’ll ever need, so begin to speak it over your life and situations today! Joyfully in the Lord, Donna

  11. Jeff Morris c-us Says:

Great blog today, I agree as Christians we must be willing to endure the turns
God allows in our life in order for him to be glorified as He brings us out the other side.

  12. EDDIE c-us Says:

Thank you Michael. I am a new born and been in business for 22 years. Learning how to listen to God is not easy but you just confirmed Gods word for me. Last fall I payed consultants to help me come up with a business plan. I believe it is Gods plan and my part in the plan is to raise wealth for Gods kingdom. Well, yesterday my bank indicated that they will be calling in on a couple of loans. Although I have an undescibable peace, I am of course concerned. So last night I am reading my bible and knew god was talking to me. This is what he said:

    Proverbs 16:3, 16:9

3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
    and your plans will succeed.

9 In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.

Please pray for us as we put on the armor of god and go into battle to take back what the enemy has stolen. God give us the endurance to fight for Gods kindom on earth.

    Eddie

Yes Michael!…….it was a beginning of the defiant attitude, that led them down to 40 yrs of a long journey,God never planned it that way, they were just so stuck in the old mind set..when God was doing such a new thing in them, same as today God is doing a new thing in the earth and in his Kingdom!……..and He sure wants to move with us if we truly take the Keys to what he wants to give us!………” out of the gate in 08′ !! frank russo, venice,fl

  14. Carol Jean c-us Says:

What a timely post!! Just when I needed it the most.

  15. Eskor Edem c-us Says:

WORD!!! It is time to get rid of the grasshopper mindsets and mentalities that have kept us from reaching the promised land and fulfilling our heavenly daddy’s unique call upon our lives and put on the KINGDOM MINDSET!!! We are the Architect of our own destinies (meaning we can’t blame anybody else if we are not aligning to the will and call of God upon our lives) and God has already given us everything that pertains to LIFE and GODLINESS. One of the devil’s strongest weapons is DECEPTION (John 10:10) and he tries to weigh us down with strongholds to the extent that we cease to be aware of the SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY that we have in Christ Jesus and instead of looking unto Jesus; the Author and perfect finisher of our faith, we find ourselves looking at the storms of life and sinking in the process.

Fault-finding and blame-shifting can never help but being able to take responsibility for our individual actions and allow whatever mistakes we make bring out the very best in God as we learn to lean on his word, be teachable and open-hearted and trust him 110% is the most liberating path you can take.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

    Matthew 11:12 (Amplified Bible)
12And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize–a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

    Revelation 12:11 (Amplified Bible)
11And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

    Good word Michael.

  16. Rachel c-us Says:

That’s right. I always say God doesn’t want weenie christians but SOLDIERS and WARRIORS for CHRIST! “Be strong and courageous” says Joshua to those who were about to fight in the battle. That’s what we all need to be…strong, courageous…BOLD. Be ready to take on whatever lies and obstacles the enemy throws at us. If we know who we are in Christ then we know that “no weapon formed against us shall prosper!” Amen…

  17. David Carter c-us Says:

As I read this devotional information, I say that this is truth. I can stand on truth, especially when that Truth is Jesus Christ. I want to expand or direct these comments to describe how a person looking for hope searches and finds this information may feel. This serves to give them a level of assurance, a step closer to trusting Christ when difficult times come rushing in like a tornado or widely like a hurricane. But not until Christ speaks to their spirit do they find hope. Hope cannot be seem, but is experienced when the Holy Spirit brings the truth of God into the spirit and then into the mind of the struggling soul. We are all struggling souls look for that special word from God to lift us out of the situation. But God may not be ready to lift us out of the situation or serve as the Door to bring us to something better. He wants to be our All in all. We need look any further when turning to Christ. Yes, we need rescuing and delivered, but only a focus of our lives in Christ do we experience these desires of the heart.

  18. keith webb c-us Says:

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead! As I watch the revival in Fla, I get the sense that God is saying AGAIN, I can do anything you can believe for that is according to my will. When will we as the body of Christ grow into that “man”?
When we with childlike hearts, will we BELEIVE what He has said over and over and over thru out the Word and thru out the years. Revive us oh Lord to SEE what you SEE and HEAR what you HEAR. Whether finances or relationships or health. ANYTHING!

    blessings Michael
