What You Don’t See Could Kill You (or your dream)
June 18th, 2008 | Michael Q. Pink
We read in Numbers 13 and 14 a most disturbing story. It’s about “seeing.” Moses had sent twelve spies into the Promised Land and they all saw the same thing with their physical eyes. But with their spiritual eyes, they saw something completely different. Ten of the men saw land that “eats its inhabitants.” Those that weren’t eaten, were of great stature and those that weren’t of great stature were even bigger! They were giants! The ten men saw themselves as grasshoppers by comparison. Can you hear the exaggeration? Land that eats its inhabitants? Grasshoppers by comparison?
The children of Israel listened to the bad report and immediately they wanted to go back into slavery where Pharaoh hated them as did all Egyptians and where they were treated with great cruelty and they began to pick a new leader who would take them back and negotiate something with Egypt! Can you imagine?
But what did Joshua and Caleb see? When they looked at the giants, they saw bread! Provision! They say fields that were already planted, houses that were already built, barns that were already full. They were excited and knew that if God delighted in them, He would bring them into a land that flows with milk and honey. The only condition was to not rebel against the Lord. Apparently that was too much and they rebelled. What form was that rebellion? It was simply unbelief. God let them die in the wilderness, never entering into the promise He had for them.
So my question to you today is, what do you see? Are you seeing God’s perspective or the enemies’ vision? Are you going to believe God or your lying eyes? Yes, sometimes your eyes will deceive you. Here’s a clue… whenever you are faced with an adversity, wait on God until He shows you the opportunity. Then believe God and secure your opportunity. Have a blessed day my friends.

TRUE WORD MICHAEL!!! There is nothing as powerful as running with the vision that God has placed in your heart and looking around you with your spiritual eyes as opposed to your physical eyes. Though it may look like the world is getting darker and darker around us, we shouldn’t forget that we are the LIGHT OF THE WORLD and we reflect the light of God. Instead of looking at the storms of life and sink in the process, our focus should ALWAYS be on JESUS CHRIST; the author and perfect finisher of our faith. Your message on VISION really helped me in this area.
Thank you once again for being a willing vessel and as you continue to water others with the words that God has placed in your spirit, it is my prayer that not only will God continue to water you and your family but that he will continue to EXPAND YOUR COAST and ENLARGE YOUR TERRITORIES/SPHERE OF INFLUENCE.
LOVE YOU and KEEP THE FIRE OF LOVE BURNING!!!
Love Always,
Eskor

Thanks Michael. After spending over 30 minutes with David Johnson (thank you again David) my husband and I took Elmer Towne’s book on fasting and finances camping. We fasted to the first day, in route, and found my husband agreed (to my surprise) to fast one day a week with me for our finances and unity. We are now reading “Rich Church, Poor Church” together. So, it is scary to look at the land (gas prices, corn rising, etc) and not see the giants, but it is better to fast and seek HIM, to help keep our eyes off the accelerated rising economy. We desire to be “Joseph’s” as Potiphar’s house (world) heads downhill in a deadly spiral. Father, help us keep our eyes on YOU and our ears hearing YOUR still small voice. Thanks a second time David and Michael.

Patience is not one of Americans Christians virtues. We are use to microwave Christianity. How many of us would have done what Paul did after going the the thrid heaven? He waited in a cave for three plus years before Barnabas came and got him and begged him to come and help him.

Good word Michael. As I add a new component to my mortgage business, (the ability to help my clients restore their credit and get debt free) I need to keep in mind that there will be people who resist this as “just another” venture, or that it won’t work. It would be easy for me to fall back on what I know and just get by in this struggling marketplace.
But God has shown me the burden of debt and how bad credit can enslave people. Thanks for helping me see this through spiritual eyes and to keep my eyes on the source of all success, my Heavenly Father.

Thank you Michael for that. It is all about trusting the Lord, being transformed by the renewing of our minds in the Word of God and proclaiming the Word of God into our situations. Also for me praying much in tongues, life and death is in the power of the tongue, and mostly we need to walk by faith and not by sight calling those things which are not as if they are!
