Your Tongue Could Save Your Life
August 20th, 2008 | Michael Q. Pink
“My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments within you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them upon your fingers, write them upon the tablet of your heart.” (Proverbs 7:1-3) “My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” (Psalm 45:1)
Our heart records the feelings we had the first time we heard Amazing Grace played on the bagpipes. It records the lyric, the setting, the moment. It records love and loss and so much of life. It’s like the record button is always “on” and later, perhaps late at night in bed, we replay whatever was recorded.
With our heart being like a tablet, we should be deliberate about what we record. We can’t help much of what is recorded, but we can choose to record good things that will help us in life. Certainly, Scripture is one thing we can record, but also we can record many positive things about life and our future. The question is “how”?
I believe David tells us when he says our tongue is the pen of a ready writer. We actually use our words to create an impression upon our heart. What we speak, gets recorded in our heart. What we speak repeatedly gets remembered in our mind as well. What a privilege to be able to choose what is
written on our heart. Sure, we can’t choose it all, but we can certainly choose to record good things.
What does your heart desperately need to hear today? That’s what you should declare. Are you afraid? Say aloud, that God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Say aloud what Jesus promised, that He would never, never, no never leave you nor forsake you. Give your heart what it needs… words of hope, words of life, words of faith. It just might save your life!
Yesterday I mentioned one of the most riveting voices in the marketplace today, Dr. Lance Wallnau. I will be sharing the platform with him in Austin Sept 4 – 6 but for those who can’t attend, I have arranged a special one-hour teleseminar this Thursday at 1:00 pm with Lance to talk about Doing
Business Supernaturally. You won’t want to miss it. Click here for details.

This is a truth we all need to understand and implement. My struggle is with those old tapes and how to destroy them. For over 20 years I have sought HIS Word and placed it in my heart. One of the truths bringing me through many painful things is “the LORD HIMSELF goes before you, HE will never leave, nor forsake you,” yet the tapes of rejection still ring very loudly to discourage and destroy. Sadly the truth too often gets overridden by the lies of the flesh, which are loud and ever present. I know the enemy and the enemy all too often sounds and looks just like me. FATHER forgive us, as we still seem to “know not what we do.” Bless you all at SAW today. KLH

I found the quote and want to attribute it to its’ author. I will use it for the weight loss group I teach tonight.
There is no need to sally forth, for it remains true that those things which make us human are, curiously enough, always close at hand. Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tiny blasts of tiny trumpets, we have met the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us.

I think GOD also defined this when HE explains our heart and our flesh. Off to my prayer closet, and 19 miles of worship!

This post reminded me of a a very small but powerful book by Charles Capps, God’s Creative Power Gift Collection. This is one of the statements in the the book.
“Your words are building blocks of which you construct your life and future. Your words set the cornerstones of your life, and you live within the confines of that boundary you create with your own words. Situations, circumstances, and conditions are all subject to change, but with the support of your words you can establish them in your life forever.”
Thank you for the reminder this morning. “Oh let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight , Oh Lord. ”
It all starts in our hearts.
Blessings to you.

I thank God for words that encourage us to speak Truth and Mercy, for we are cleansed by words of Truth and Mercy and our darkened hearts and pasts can be not just pardoned but Redeemed!! Kara, thank you for the quote.. I too am a poet and songwriter and in one song, the lyrics go “this world holds nothing for me and my flesh is just my enemy and the prince of this world is a liar, Oh Lord may you alone be my Desire!” Papa God help us all to desire you and speak your plans and blueprints into our present existence and help us to not judge others but to speak right things over them…thank you Michael for this forum…America bless God

Keith, I would like to hear the song you wrote as one of my old favorite hymns is, “This World is Not My Home.” I use worship music when I ride my bicycle to help reprogram my thought process, when my “thinkin’ is stinkin’ ” which seems to be full of “old tapes” with BAD beliefs (ie, I’m fat, stupid and ugly). I love worship music (mostly contemporary, Jars of Clay, Third Day, WOW Worship!) but they PAY me to stay out of choirs as I don’t have a very good singing voice. (On my bike it does not matter and no one hears me!) I think music/worship is the BEST way to change how we think, respond and to “forget about ourselves and concentrate on HIM, and worship HIM.” I did teach myself years ago to play an oboe, which I LOVE, but no longer have one to play. As a child I never was in the band, nor did I learn to read music, but practiced on my oboe with an old Mennonite hymnal. The reason I wanted to learn the oboe (hubby said I picked the HARDEST to learn) is I took youth to a conference and was so ministered to by an oboe playing “As the Deer.” So, keep it up for HIM! Blessings, KLH

Kara, thanks for sharing…yea, the old tapes have to be thoroughly erased and and then Holy Spirit needs to replace fear with faith, depression with joy and hate with love…the process takes awhile but I believe we hinder the process with our lack of diligence and unbelief. Here was today’s word from “Spirit of Prophecy” :
Small Straws In A Soft Wind by Marsha Burns — August 21, 2008: Breaking through to a new level of destiny, both spiritual and physical, will require your focused attention. Quiet your mind and emotions so that you can discern My presence and voice that will guide you into this new realm of experience. Do not allow the lies of the devil to get you into fear. You are nearly through this long season of transition, but it will take an inordinate amount of strength and energy to push through. Be strong and resolute as you press on.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Will the Lance Wallnau presentation from 8/21 be replayed? I miscalculated the time zone delay and missed what I emphatically needed to see.
