Night Vision
February 20th, 2009 | Michael Q. Pink
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may know…” Ephesians 1:17-18
Seeing with the eyes of your understanding is like having night vision. You can see what cannot normally be seen and few there be that do see it. Night vision gives you a huge advantage when things are dark. For what it’s worth, I believe in many ways we are approaching the midnight hour. There is much darkness all around, but God has given you night vision. He has given you a second set of eyes to see into the spiritual realm. To help you see correctly, Paul prayed that God would give unto us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ.
This morning I saw joy with the eyes of my understanding, the eyes of my imagination. I saw a future joy that is set before me for accomplishment that is still off in the future. And today, I began to pull that future joy into the present. Just like Isaiah told the barren woman to do. He said, “Sing, O barren, you that did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you that did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, says the LORD.” He is telling the barren woman to rejoice. How much sense does that make?
Lots if you’re seeing with the eyes of your understanding, the eyes of your imagination, the eyes that see what can be, what should be, what in fact will be if you reach out in faith and pull the future into the present. The barren woman was told to rejoice as though she had more children than the married wife. Experience the thrill, the joy, the explosion of sheer happiness now as if it were manifest now. Start rejoicing in your deliverance now. Start rejoicing in your breakthrough now. Don’t put off the rejoicing unless you also would like to delay or slow down or put off the breakthrough.
When you begin to practice seeing with your night vision goggles, (the eyes of your understanding, the eyes of your imagination illuminated by His Spirit), it’s a whole new day. A whole nuther world! A whole new realm of possibilities. Your natural eyes which you depend so heavily on are extremely limited. Think about it! They can only see what is in proximity to your body. But the eyes of your understanding can see souls getting saved in China, nations being transformed in Central America, people groups coming to Christ by the thousands all over the world. All without leaving your living room.
Those eyes can see solutions to problems challenging you now. They can see provision where others only see lack. They can see open doors where others only see closed doors. They can see favor when others can only imagine rejection. Start using your spiritual eyes to see what God sees. Exercise the eyes of your understanding. Pray Ephesians 1:17-23 daily. I wish I could be with you all right now. I have so much to say and so little space to say it. Thank you for bearing with me as I struggle to put on paper what I see with my night vision. Blessings on you all.

Thanks again, Michael, for provoking me to get my thoughts right. What you have shared fits perfectly with what the Lord has been saying to our fellowship - and I believe to all those whose ears are open throughout His kingdom across the world.

Right on Michael, I appreciate your willingness to think outside the box. Your thoughts are so refreshing. They are right in line with what the Lord has been laying on my heart. For wisdom, understanding & insight into what the Lord has in store for us in the coming days, weeks, months….how we are to work until He comes for us.
We do need night vision…..seeing with new eyes, being able to see what others cannot see. We need to be open to new ways of thinking & doing for such a time as this. So many are so set in their ways that they are not willing to change their thinking. God help them….even church leaders will not look at new ideas, they are too impressed with themselves & think they know it all. The way we’ve always done things won’t work anymore. The church needs to become a community of teaching & learning new ways to survive in this economy. Where else can people go to learn about honest & truthful ways to generate incomes when jobs are not the answer? Some church leaders are so afraid of scams that they will not allow any business ideas to be promoted in the church. We obviously can’t trust the Gov. for honesty & truthfullness, so where are we to go if the church refuses to provide the answers? Seems to me I’ve heard that question before. Fear is still paralyzing the church from taking action!! We need to Wake Up & see the fields that are ripe for harvest….What a missionfield we have to draw in the lost.

In response to Jan’s comment on the church and business. I agree wholeheartedly. The Government has their fingers in things they shouldn’t because the church isn’t rising to what she has been called to. The marketplace is such a huge mission field and it all belongs to the Lord. May we take our place as the Body of Christ to be stewards and missionaries in this field.

“Fear is still paralyzing the church from taking action!! ” - Jan
A whole lot of truth right here. If this economy is not wakeing you up to take action on the issues at hand what is it going to take. I cant even watch the news anymore b/c it makes my blood boil. There are enough Christian people in the US to take control of this country again. Its time to go to serious battle and nows not the time to be scared.

I have a question; I will check back later for any answers.
How do I tell the difference between what God is telling me and what I am telling myself? -or- How do I tell if a dream is from God or from my own desires?

Michael, Thanks!!!
I got such a jolt of joy as I read this, and started grinning, laughing, and waving my hands in the air. The Way of Faith, Thanks, Praise and Worship results in Blessings, Breakthroughs and Miracles. All Glory to Our Father!!!!!!!!
Gary, from 48 years of walking in the Spirit of God, I suggest the following:
Pray - YOUR kingdom come, YOUR will be done, in and through me, as it is in heaven.
Ask for knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Confess with your mouth that you accept every gift from Our Father, and refuse all deception of the enemy, in Jesus’ Name.
Then, just worship and rejoice. Keep reading, DEVOURING His Word and obeying it.
Then His peace will keep you, and you will KNOW!
Blessings!!!

amen…i just left a conversation with someone who was saying that after they got ‘new glasses’, their whole world changed because they saw things for what they were… i said that’s just like seeing thru the eyes of faith…seeing what God sees changes your whole view of everything not just in the physical..God bless you for confirming that word with the ‘Word”
blessings and revealed knowledge unto you

Gary,
Not a question for a quick answer. First thing I would say is do you pray daily and meditate on Gods word? Do you have a quite time and earnestly seek God? If so God promises us that if we acknowledge Him, He will direct our paths. He makes things plain. He also tells us He is not the author of confusion. Jesus will speak to you and you will know His voice. He has promised us that. Jesus says ‘My sheep know my voice”.
Next we are told in 1 John 4:1 to try the spirits whether they are of God because may false prophets are gone out into the world. Verse 2 says that if the spirit confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, it is of God. Meditate on your thoughts and revelations. Do they confess Jesus or have a secular view? Are they pure and Holy? Do your thoughts agree with Gods word front to back?
This is a good starting place for you to think about. I do want to put emphasis on daily prayer and meditation on Gods word. To know Jesus is to know His word. John 1:14 says that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Keep following Him!

Gary,
everyone has an angle on this, but i believe that sometime we know to do something and where it is wise to wait and test the ‘word’ or impression with
God’s word, other times we need to get out and do it! God is looking for people
of obedience and if you miss it- He is faithful to correct the situation and guide you from that point…but if it is God you will be given more..it is often simply a
matter of stewardship. He is a Father, not a tyrant looking to slap us down when we come up short..unfortunately, there are those in the ‘church’ who will hinder you more than anyone else..Great question…hope this helped…God IS Speaking!

Michael: The accuracy of the inspired words you shared today once again reminded me to re-focus with my spirit eyes by faith and walk in the Spirit. Somehow we need constant reminding until a habit is concretely formed. What you wrote was not dry and dead but full of the life of Father God. I sensed an awesome joy that is welling up within you…sheer child-like joy. It is contagious, infectious and simply beautiful. It came through your writing and I pray that all that read it will venture out by faith to see into the Spirit. Thanks for being willing and obedient!

For Gary on the 20th,
You received some awesome insights from people and to their comments I say “Amen!” I just want to add my two cents with some scripture to back up what they are saying: I am paraphrasing so you are going to have to look them up yourself.
James 1:5-7 Ask for wisdom in faith and receive it, it’s yours without reproach.
Hebrews 4:12 The word of God will divide between what is your soul and what is coming from your spirit which is where God is speaking to you.
Colossians 3:14-15 Love and Peace are our safeguards, they determine what is right. The Amplified calls them an “umpire, deciding with finality all questions that arise in your mind.”

To those of you who responded to me (Gary),
Thanks for the input, the encouragement and the practical, concreat help. I have made a list of the verses you have shared with me and am reviewing them often during the day. Thanks again.

Gary,
I would like to recomend another resource for you. George Muller Man of Faith and Miracles by Basil Miller. You can find it on half.com for about .75 cents. This book really helped my daily walk with Christ and shows alot of real life application of scriptures that he done through out his life. Its not but about 150 pages and is easy reading.
Another thing for you that will help. When you pray, take your time and let it be a two way conversation. Dont dump your problems on God and hurry up and walk away. Give God the reverance He deserves. He is the King of Kings and is your Father. Comunicate with Him as you would your earthly father. Talk to Him and let Him respond back. Pray untill you have a peace that passes all understanding. Philippians 4:5-9. This is can be different times for different people. I might have to pray a week on something and my wife has peace in 1 day. Its not the same for everyone. Dont be upset if someone seems to get answers and direction instantly. God may want you to talk to Him more about it.
I dont mean to continue to ramble but this is a season that i am in right now and i just want to pass along all the info I can on how GREAT GOD IS!!!

If anyone has the opportunity to see “Gifted Hands, The Ben Carson Story” from Johnson and Johnson on TNT, he saw with “night vision.” He was always looking at the natural (for signs and wonders) as Michael taught us in the past, for GOD to show him and HE did. HE is always faithful. Thanks Michael and blessings to you! KlH

On “Night Vision”
I had a dream this morning where I went from the “basement” thinking to the next level. I then looked out the window to see the entire world right there in front of me. It was amazing; I could see every detail, especially the grass on the hills. And it was right there, outside my window (my eyesight)! I believe this is a prophetic dream and that the Lord is telling His people that He has a world view and He is revealing it to us! Praise Him!

When I read “Night Vision” my spirit leaped within me. For several weeks we have been talking about pulling the age to come into this present age. What an exciting thing to pursue!
