Invasion in Process…

July 27th, 2009 | Michael Q. Pink

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby
some have entertained angels unawares.”
(Heb 13:2)

Yesterday at church I heard about a woman in our town who had thyroid cancer and it was spreading. She was at the point where she couldn’t eat food. The outlook was bleak. As she was stopped at a red light in town, a homeless woman approached her for money. She reached into her purse, pulled out five dollars and handed it to her.

When she did that, the homeless woman reached through her car window, placed her hand on her arm, looked her intently in the eye and said, “God bless you” and then turned to walk away. The lady with cancer was deeply touched by the apparent sincerity of that simple blessing and reached down in her purse to find a twenty dollar bill to give the woman.

When she looked up to give her the twenty bucks, the woman was nowhere to be found. She had simply vanished. On top of that, the woman with cancer felt that something dramatic had happened in her body. She drove to Taco Bell and bought some food and for the first time in weeks, was able to eat without pain or problem. She had been healed. Needless to say, there was rejoicing in that family and in our community.

I believe God is in the process of invading this planet with a fresh wind of His presence. Something is up. God is afoot in the marketplace and that is impacting the church.  Kind of reminds me of the first time Jesus came.  Friends, we live in uncommon times and we will be experiencing uncommon encounters with the Lord in the coming months. More later. Get ready.

Yes, I’m feeling it too. The ‘code words’ in my heart this week have been ‘believing is seeing!’

‘Jehovah-Sneaky’ is up to something amazing!

Oh, thank you so much for this WORD…I don’t usually take the time to read the postings right away because of work, however, I did this morning and my soul has been blessed.

  3. Peter Says:

The Kingdom of God is at hand.

For some time now we have seen divine appointments in the marketplace (outside institutional church structures). It is time for The Ekklesia to stand up and to remind satan of who God IS. The gates of hell shall not prevail. We thank The Lord for his hand on this woman’s life. The hand that makes whole. Let there be more of it.

    Haha Ali - ‘Jehovah-Sneaky’ - I do like that.

wow…thanks for sharing…what an awesome example of God’s grace and love. I too believe that something is in the air…a friend of mine had an experience where he almost drowned, and God sent a man to rescue him that my friend had assisted 3 years earlier by giving him cpr when he had a problem…God is good, and we need to keep our eyes and ears open so we can be a witness to that goodness.

    Hallelujah! What an encouraging testimony!

    Hi DC;

Thank you for your comments. I believe that Scripture infers (Mark 12:25) that the angels are neither male nor female. However, I see in Scripture that Jesus took on different forms at different times. We are most familiar with Him as the gospels reveal Him, but also we see Him on the road to Emmaus and even His disciples didn’t recognize Him. There are a couple of other occasions when He was unrecognizable to those who knew Him and then He revealed Himself.

It seems to me that God could well have sent an angel in female form to touch a woman in a car who would not have opened her window to a homeless man at a street corner.

The Bible doesn’t explicitly say that all angels are male so I believe that leaves room for an angel to appear in female form. However, I was not there. Maybe it really was a homeless woman and God used her to minister healing. The point of me telling the story was simply to share that God did something wonderful and completely unexpected in the marketplace. Whether it was an angel appearing as a woman or just a homeless woman God used, I do not know. It seems to me that a miracle happened and I rejoice in that woman’s healing.

I appreciate your passion for the Word and thank you for writing.

Blessings to you and your husband!

    Michael

Who better to answer our questions about angels than Billy Graham in his 1975 book titled Angels - God’s Secret Agents? In the forward he professes his biblical study of angels “has been one of the most fascinating studies of my life” and that “angels have a much more important place in the Bible than the devil and his demons.”

In his book I learned “Angelology” is the orderly statement of biblical truth about angels. Billy Graham states “It seems that angels have the ability to change their appearance and shuttle in a flash from the capital glory of heaven to earth and back again. The bible frequently makes it clear that angels are non-material. Hebrews 1:14 calls them ministering ’spirits’. Intrinsically, they do not possess physical bodies, although they may take on physical bodies when God appoints them to special tasks.”

Besides the scripture Michael quoted, Graham also says “The Bible also teaches that angels are sexless. Jesus said that in heaven men ‘neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven’. Matthew 22:30.”

One of the early stories in his book is about a mother who is ill and her little girl goes to summon a doctor on a snowy, cold night. When he arrives to her bedside and compliments her on her daughter’s persistence, she explains her daughter died a month earlier and that her coat and boots were still in the closet. There hung the very coat and boots worn by the girl still dry and and could not have possibly been out in the winter night….

I will close with one of my favorite paragraphs from his book: “On the other hand, the Bible indicates angels are more often invisible to human eyes. Whether visible or invisible, however, God causes His angels to go before us, to be with us, and to follow after us. All of this can be fully understood only by believers who know that angelic presences are in control of the battlefield about us, so that we may stand (Isaiah 26:3) with complete confidence in the midst of the fight. If God be for us who can be against us?”

    Amen!

    Michael,
I loved your story about the woman who was healed of cancer - so encouraging! I really enjoy your writings - keep up the good work!

  11. James Hamby Says:

Thank you Michael. It is refreshing to reading something positive. In response to DC, stay open to God working outside of our box. He is God of all. We don’t have to understand Him to believe that he can do all things. I believe we will see God manifest Himself in many ways in the last days.

I look forward to Him shaking our world like He did in the New Testament.

    Blessings.

  12. Lorisa Says:

DC - May I preface by saying - I thoroughly respect and admire your wish to follow God’s word. May I also respectfully point out that you come across very condescending - especially in that last paragraph. The word “angel” was never used in Michael’s post. I have thought and thought about your responses and even discussed this with other people. How can the story Michael told bring anything but glory to God? I’d bet everything I own that the woman who was healed is giving GOD the glory. Stop looking for something bad and let everyone enjoy the miracle. Didn’t Jesus say “what you do to the least of these, you do to me?” Maybe, just maybe - that homeless lady WAS Jesus.

    Respectfully,

  13. Lorisa Says:

DC - WOW…. First - I apologize profusely that you saw it as speaking behind your back. This is a blog - we respond to each other all the time through this blog. I also knew you would get a copy of my response emailed to you because you had posted. If you’re referring to the fact that I discussed this with someone from work and my son - why would you be upset that I explored your ideas with other christians? That’s not “talking behind your back”.
You did get me on the scripture… I’ll give you that. It doesn’t change anything else about my response.
My response was not meant as an attack and neither was James’. He wasn’t trying to infuriate you - he was imparting his thoughts just as you have. As christians, are we not allowed to discuss differences in opinion? My goodness…

  14. Sww63 Says:

Hello people! Listen to you Christians bicker! Score one for Satan - again. Instead of doing good he has got you two fighting over nothing! Satan doesn’t spend his time destroying us, he spends it get us to not be productive Christians. We waste are time fighting each other over the dumbest things! You two are proof of that. Quit letting him win.

  15. Renetter Says:

I believe this is a true and awesome testimony. When are we going to just believe what the word says and when in shows up in real life just rejoice! Why must we analyze everything? If the word confirms it, accept it and simply give up the praise!

The world is not holding up the body of Christ, doubters in the body is holding up the body!

It’s time to move into the the greater then these Jesus spoke of in St. John 14:12. Do we believe or do we doubt that it is possible we will actually see greater works today then we read about taking place yesterday? I believe so praise God for the Invasion in Process and may it continue!

  16. Recovery Says:

    God exists,maybe It’s a stranger around you,so it’s right to entertain strangers.
