Descriptions of Reality - Faith

October 21st, 2009 | Michael Q. Pink

“If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.” Mark 9:23

I have another confession to make. I am really dissatisfied with my Christian life. I am not dissatisfied with God, but rather how far below I am living from what He makes available to us. To some extent, I was conditioned to grow up in Christ and still be impotent, weak and powerless in matters of faith. On occasion, I have witnessed or experienced the undeniable power of God show up and release dramatic and instant healing or an abundance of provision when there seemed to be no way. But I want more and God makes more available… to him (or her) that believes.

You see, when Jesus spoke, He was helping you and I understand reality. He was DESCRIBING reality. When He said that ALL things are possible to him that believes, He wasn’t waxing eloquent or trying to be merely inspirational. He was describing REALITY. He was explaining the way things really work. When I measure my life to this Scripture, I realize just how little I really believe at a gut level, or should I say, at a heart level. I want my knowledge of Scripture to so deeply penetrate my heart that I am forever ruined for the ordinary.

In fact, that has already started. Friends… (May I call you friends?)… I am done with low living. I am done with explaining away spiritual truth because I cannot manifest it in my own life. From now on, I will endeavor to speak the Truth, to declare as true what God has said. I will no longer modify it by my experience. I will cease filtering the Word and adjusting the Word through the prism of my experience. Instead, I will let my experience catch up with the Truth of His Word.

As I head down this path, I invite you my friends to join me. Together, we will explore and experience the Truth of His Word in ways we have always secretly hoped for. For those of you who want to walk a little more closely with me and some of the other folks who read this blog, I invite you to a private, by invitation only, conference call next week where I will share with you some details about how God is helping me coach, train and inspire using the latest online tools available.  Here’s what one attendee last week had to say about the conference call…

“Just wanted to thank you for including me in the web cast this morning.  Michael’s material in itself represents a solid body of work for kingdom purposes….but the website really takes it all to a remarkable level.  Not so much that it enhances the value of the material (which it does), but more that it exponentially expands the possibilities for infusing it to business interests around the globe.

As you know, I am not easily impressed, but I think what God has done through Michael’s work is beyond impressive…it is inspiring.  Inspiring to know that God has been able to use Michael’s efforts to bring all this to a point of fullness in such a short time.  You and I both know that unless God builds the house, they labor in vain….  When God is clearly at work, it becomes easy to give one’s self to promoting the initiative.”

If you want in on that call, please respond to Cheryl at this email address and she will schedule a time when we can meet in a small group conference call with about a dozen folks on the call. That way I can speak directly with you and hear your heart as well.

AMEN and amen Michael. I want to be used like Peter and my shadow, my mere shadow, have such an impact on others due to HIS dwelling within me too. Thanks to the lady who gave me the Wommack link. He (A. Wommack) is helping redirect my thought process, and am praying I am doing what I am doing for HIS glory! Blessings!

Thank you for this comment; it was prophetic and spoke to my heart. Why is the Church so powerless (in general) today? I’m not referring to the apostates in the main-line denominations; where do we see Christians doing the promised “even greater works’ than Jesus Himself did? ["All things are possible to him who believes!"] How is the feeble Church to stand up to the incursions of militant Islam? I pray every day for the overthrow of Islam (God overthrew Russian communism); but also for the overthrow of apostate Christianity, which is probably a priority in the eyes of the Lord (after all, judgment begins at the house of God).
We need to recognize God’s REALITY; I believe that He hates our word ’supernatural’, for that is totally natural to Him, yet generally so foreign to us.
In your second paragraph, where you write “He was describing REALITY”, I misread that word as BEAUTY ! (Easy to misread the small print when you are 72.) Yet God’s reality is beautiful, and, if we could see that beauty, we would want more of His reality and never be satisfied any more with the faint shadow of it that we occasionally allow ourselves to sense on this earth.
God bless you and thanks again. John Blasdale

Thank you for being yet another leader unashamed to admit that your eyes have been opened to glimpse the authority we were given the moment we accepted Jesus Christ, and confess your personal dissatisfaction with status quo religious Christianity.
His body is finally coming to this realization in this generation, and I can almost hear Him laughing with joy over us and also hear the enemy tremble if fear. We all have a job to do, and must know how to use the tools and weapons He has supplied us with.
I have been watching your bold steps recently and can feel God’s pleasure over you, His son. I will be praying for continued revelation for you and for all of us! Don’t back down, because you are going to get pushed.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

You are the second person this week that has spoken this very same thing…WOW! I think I need to pay attention!

As I open my email to read, I open Michael’s with priority. As I read today’s confession/admonition, I noticed a person with a deeper and more thorough inside into God’s work. The Truth is a person when we refer to Jesus. Jesus is Truth. Truth sets you free. As a person experiences Jesus, the person experiences Truth. A study of Jesus life reveals that everything He did was a fulfillment of His nature. To search for everything true is to find it in Jesus. Whatever I can believe in Jesus as Truth is available to me through faith. Faith does not focus on the activity of Christ, but on the person of Jesus Christ. When faith can believe in Jesus, faith can believe in Truth. Truth is a product of my relationship to Jesus Christ as a person who has spoken truth in His promises. His promises are truth. His ways are Truth. His word is Truth. Therefore, all his promises are based in His attributes. Faith does not focus on what I need or want; it focuses on me being satisfied with getting to know Him in Truth.

  6. Dave White Says:

God impressed upon me today that through Him, we who are His can be continually led by His Holy Spirit. Jesus said that He only did what He was told by His Father. We have that same opportunity… to live this life in obedient faith moment by moment with no fear, doubt or unbelief! As many as are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Will I fail? Yes! Is it the absolute desire of my heart? Yes. Praise God for His grace and mercies that are new every morning!
I am in total agreement with you Brother that the word of God is 100% true. We all (only Jesus saw perfectly clearly) have wrong filters for whatever reasons… but let God be true and every man a liar. (Not trying to be harsh, it is just a fact. I also believe our condition is by His design so that we need all the other members in the Body of Christ to shape and supply where we lack. This also is designed to create a continual hunger and thirst for God. We are to be totally dependent upon God and He wants His children to be in relationship one with another.)
    God Bless!

AMEN from my corner too! I too, want to be forever ruined for the ordinary. I’m in. You give expression so eloquently to that which is in my heart.

  8. Sheila Kmoch Says:

I hear your heart! I believe God HImself is drawing us, now putting the desperate cry in our hearts for our bridegroom - drawing us to fall passionately in love with Jesus….allowing all else to fade in comparison. I, too, have sensed the lack of satisfaction with our status as His bride - His church - His sons - if this is how He looks, why would anyone want Him? And worst of all is that the world around us only sees our representation of Him! He is so very awesome and so much more than we have known - and sad to say, we didn’t know it ourselves - how short-changed we were. But He is correcting that, isn’t He!!!

So, of course, I am in - just not able to do the phone conference thing at this time. But my heart is in agreement with reality - Perhaps this is why “reality” shows are so popular, because the children of this world are wiser than the children of light?

  9. Randy Browne Says:

Alignment-Agreement … I’m tired of believing what I’m not achieving. It’s time to start achieving what I’m believing!

  10. SWW Says:

I’m in the car business and l lost my job in May. I asked God for a job and hoped I could find one where I could make a certain amount yearly. I felt God tell me He can get a job that pays even better than I hoped for!

I’m now employed and from time to time I pray hoping we will sell 4 or 5 cars in a day. Again I felt Him say “why are you limiting my blessing on you?”

We hold Him back, He doesn’t hold us back.
