About Your Thought Life

August 1st, 2008

Hello Friend,

Judging from the response and the dialog that has resulted, this week’s messages from David have been hitting home with a lot of folks.

What about you? Do you deal with an internal struggle?

I know for myself, even after I came to believe God wants us to succeed in business, for many years it was much easier for me to accept that God would want someone else to do well… but when it came to me, it was harder to believe.  Consequently, as you can imagine, my effectiveness was limited when it came to my own business and my own earnings.

Only you and God know what goes on in your own mind. But if you struggle with any of the inner programming — the thoughts that say, “You don’t deserve it,” “God won’t allow you to have it,” “You’re just being greedy,” then I have good news!

David Johnson and I have been personally acquainted for the last 7 years or so.  In that time, we’ve worked side by side on a number of projects, including the very first “Nourish The Dream” event. If you’ve been a subscriber of mine for a while, you will remember the e-mail invitation you received to that event.  In fact, it was when he invited me to speak at that event, that I began to know more of what God has put in him. And, as we’ve worked even more closely together in this last year and half, I’ve seen much more of that. That’s why I’m thrilled to be able to tell you about this…

David has put together an audio series that addresses head-on those internal struggles and mental barriers that you may have experienced.  If you’ve ever dealt with anything like this, then I urge you to get your hands on this series right away. He’s even agreed to make a special offer available for people who respond to this e-mail, and it includes some great bonus gifts.

You owe it to yourself, to your business, to your family… to check it out now.

I look forward to hearing a good report from you after you’ve had a chance to listen to it!

Blessings,

Michael

P.S. Don’t delay! You could be retraining your thinking today!

We’re Not Worthy!

August 1st, 2008

Today’s message is a guest entry from David G. Johnson, founder of Nourish The Dream

“…giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.” (Colossians 1:12 NKJV)

David G. Johnson, Founder of Nourish The DreamWe’ve been talking about misinterpretations of Scripture that hold us back when we try to achieve something financially or in business.  Today I want to bring up something that can be very subtle, and therefore potentially more harmful.

Do you ever feel unworthy of success?

Regardless of your religious upbringing (or lack thereof, as the case may be), we were all born into a system that tends to convey this kind of message to us. We could probably trace it all the way back to Adam — the sense that we just don’t qualify for something good seems almost universal. Perhaps your parents raised you with a performance-oriented mentality. Certainly religious teachings that tell us, “you’re a worm,” or, “you’re just a sinner,” pour fuel onto this fire — even when they add, “saved by Grace,” to the end.

When we come from the perspective that we’re unworthy, going to God to ask for His help in accomplishing something doesn’t tend to yield much fruit. Why? Because we don’t expect Him to actually help us.  James refers to this as being, “double-minded,” and says that we’ll be easily moved when circumstances shift.

If you’re feeling unworthy, then allow this truth to connect with your heart. We know that if we’ve entered into relationship with God through His Son, then the sin problem has been dealt with. God know longer sees us as “sinners,” but instead calls us “saints.” We couldn’t have earned that status to begin with… so do we now think we can somehow qualify to keep it? Of course not!

When we rest in the fact that He has qualified us, we can actually, “…come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Take some time today to let this truth to become real to you. You’ll be glad you did!

Did You Miss Out?

July 3rd, 2008

Hello Friend,

Tuesday evening’s webinar with Debra Thompson Roedl was nothing short of spectacular. I can’t tell you how many people we’ve heard from who enjoyed the event very much. Here are just a couple of examples:

“Thank you for the teaching and for the web marketing with Debra. It was well worth waking up at 2am in UK to take part.” - Sandra, UK

“I can not express my gratitude enough for what you have done for me! …This was an excellent webinar packed with jewels and now my head is spinning with all the dreams and visions of what we can achieve! Michael, just think about that Millionaire Team in the making around the globe!” - Wilhelmien, Switzerland

These are just a couple of examples of the countless people from the US and abroad who submitted their thoughts during and after the webinar, sent e-mails and made comments on the blog site about the event.

Replay Update

So many of you have asked me about whether we recorded the event. Here’s some good news for you: thanks to Debra’s team, I’m happy to report that we now have a replay of the event available. Click here to watch it right now or at your convenience.  I recommend you do it soon, because I’m not sure when we’ll be taking it down.

Replay of Webinar with Debra Thompson Roedl

More good news: you will hear that at the end of the event, Debra made an opportunity for continuing education available to everyone.  Mind you, you will benefit from watching this webinar whether or not you’re thinking about continuing on and benefitting from additional training with Debra.  That being said, you will hear that she made a very special “joint venture” offer for the 1st 25 people who signed up for additional training.  I’m happy to report that I spoke with her yesterday and went to bat for my subscribers, because there were so many people who missed the event because of the schedule. Debra agreed to make that joint venture offer available to another 25 people!  So… when you hear her talk about that, if you’re thinking about moving forward, you should do so! Chances are if you sign up in the next few days you will be one of those who can take advantage of that opportunity.

Again… whether or not you are interested in moving further with continuing education, I highly recommend you take some time — either today or over the weekend — to watch this webinar. As one person who watched it commented, “It was great.  She really is off the charts genuine… I really was impressed.” You will see her heart shine through as someone who truly wants to impact the world for the King… and equip others to do the same.

Be sure to come back to the blog after you’ve seen it and let me know your thoughts.

Blessings,

Michael

What You Don’t See Could Kill You (or your dream)

June 18th, 2008

We read in Numbers 13 and 14 a most disturbing story. It’s about “seeing.” Moses had sent twelve spies into the Promised Land and they all saw the same thing with their physical eyes. But with their spiritual eyes, they saw something completely different. Ten of the men saw land that “eats its inhabitants.” Those that weren’t eaten, were of great stature and those that weren’t of great stature were even bigger! They were giants! The ten men saw themselves as grasshoppers by comparison. Can you hear the exaggeration? Land that eats its inhabitants? Grasshoppers by comparison?

The children of Israel listened to the bad report and immediately they wanted to go back into slavery where Pharaoh hated them as did all Egyptians and where they were treated with great cruelty and they began to pick a new leader who would take them back and negotiate something with Egypt! Can you imagine?

But what did Joshua and Caleb see? When they looked at the giants, they saw bread! Provision! They say fields that were already planted, houses that were already built, barns that were already full. They were excited and knew that if God delighted in them, He would bring them into a land that flows with milk and honey. The only condition was to not rebel against the Lord. Apparently that was too much and they rebelled. What form was that rebellion? It was simply unbelief. God let them die in the wilderness, never entering into the promise He had for them.

So my question to you today is, what do you see? Are you seeing God’s perspective or the enemies’ vision? Are you going to believe God or your lying eyes? Yes, sometimes your eyes will deceive you. Here’s a clue… whenever you are faced with an adversity, wait on God until He shows you the opportunity. Then believe God and secure your opportunity. Have a blessed day my friends.

Beware the Trap

January 24th, 2008

Did you know that you can be so obsessed with knowing God’s will that you can be trapped in paralysis? Afraid to step out because you are not sure if it is God’s will. I would wager that nearly everyone reading this post has struggled or is currently struggling with this issue and it’s something we need to revisit now.

Some people are so obsessed with knowing God’s will for their life they ask God what clothes to wear or what restaurant to eat at today. Can you imagine having adult kids that checked with you daily over simple matters like that? Now thankfully most of us aren’t stuck in that rut, but still we wonder if the dream we have is of God or not. We want three signs, a prophecy and advance payment just to be sure! Where is your sense of adventure?!?!

When Solomon dedicated the temple, he quoted God who had previously said that He had “chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house that My name might be there, but I chose David…” (1 Kings ch.8) Solomon goes on to explain that it was David who had it in his heart to build a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel. This was not something God ordered, but it was in David’s heart and David perhaps more than any Old Testament figure delighted in God’s presence and God delighted in him - and blessed the building of the temple.

Want to know if the dream you have or the work you are doing is God’s will for your life? Do like Augustine suggested… Love God, and then do as you please. When you delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart. The key is to truly love God, and then your desires will be in line. To be continued…
