“Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil.” The Greek word for wiles is “methodeia”, from which we get our English word, method. Understand this; the devil has a method for your madness. He has a method, a scheme… if you will - a system in place to trip you up and frustrate the purposes of God for your life. The devil uses “systems” to defeat you. That way, he doesn’t have to personally supervise you’re actions. He just sets the system in place, gets you deeply ingrained in the system and leaves you struggling the rest of your life with that system. It might be the way you interpret failure or silence or compliments. It could be the way you react to a wrong or a right, etc. The point is that he uses systems to defeat

Hello Friend,
Even though we worked hard to provide as many convenient opportunities as possible to participate, I recognize that many of you might not have been able to participate in this week’s meetings with Eric Beck.
We have extended a very special offer on a business tool that Eric has made available, and I felt like you should have the opportunity to take advantage of it if you’d like. The offer expires later today, so for just the next few hours, we’re making a replay of one of this week’s calls available. You can listen to it online here.
Why listen?
Hundreds of people this week picked up some strategies that will help their businesses prosper for generations to come. Also, I think you’ll really enjoy hearing Eric explain more about the concept of “Manna” vs. “Mammon.”

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.” (Proverbs 22:1) Yesterday, I discussed the Arthur Andersen accounting scandal and the impact a conviction for obstruction of justice had on Andersen Consulting, which until 2000 was under the umbrella of Andersen Worldwide. One reader wanted to clarify that Andersen Consulting had broken off from Andersen Worldwide before the scandal broke and had nothing to do with it. That is correct and my thanks for clarifying that.
That only goes to show, however, that even being associated with someone or some company who chooses riches over reputation will not only hurt them in the long term, but potentially irrevocably hurt you. Proverbs 13:20 warns, “He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.” (Proverbs 22:1) A person with a good name is a person of character with a good reputation. A strong reputation will get you more opportunities than money will — and that’s saying something! And when you choose riches over character, the results can be devastating.
Case Study: The firm of Arthur Andersen was founded in 1913. Andersen was known for an unwavering faith in education as the basis upon which the new profession of accounting should be developed. He was a generous man of good reputation who headed the firm until his death in 1947. He once refused to sign off on flawed accounts of a local rail utility even, “…for all the money in America.” Andersen’s motto was “Think straight, talk straight” and everyone knew his reputation.

We are talking about improving our productivity by keeping the pests at bay. It’s a big job but absolutely necessary for success in business. The sixth natural strategy is called “secondary metabolites”. It’s where the plant uses chemical warfare to fight off pests, pathogens and fungus. The plant makes it unpleasant for the offender, even deadly if they persist.
So what’s the lesson here? Simple - Get serious. Don’t reward interruption. Make it costly to the perpetrator. Unfortunately a lot of folks can’t take a hint or even a gentle request so sometimes there has to be a price to pay for that interruption. It might be a stern word of correction, a warning or even withdrawing business from a nuisance vendor.

“The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.” (Pro 15:2) It takes wisdom to know when and what to speak. Consider the sales profession. Sales people are most often criticized for talking too much and deservedly so in many cases. Many times we want to tell what we know, get our point across, make our position, benefits, advantages known. A wise man knows how to do that but a fool just pours it out. They may disperse the same knowledge but the one seems foolish and the other wise. This has to do with timing among other things.
A good sales presentation involves a good sense of timing. You certainly don’t want to reveal everything you know in one verbal dump. In sales you need only present benefits that address known needs of your customer. Present these benefits in descending priority beginning with the most significant and working your way down. Don’t present any benefit until needs have been fully disclosed and you understand why those needs matter.
