Things You Might Not Know About How To Get The Most Out of this Blog

by The “Geek”

In the last few months, we’ve been working to enhance your experience here. Some of the highlights:

Discussion

  • When you leave a comment, you may choose to receive an e-mail when other comments are submitted for that particular post. This allows you to follow the discussion without having to come back to the site all the time. We’ve had this feature for a few months now, I wanted to point it out in case you may not be aware.
    • New feature: You may now subscribe to the comments on a particular post WITHOUT having to leave a comment! This is fun if you’re not quite ready to weigh in yet, but you want to keep an eye on the discussion.
    • We’ve also added a “subscription management” page. Visit any post where you are already subscribed and you’ll see a link to “Manage Your Subscriptions.” This allows you to have full control over which posts you’re receiving e-mails from.
  • “Most Popular Posts” - you may notice that we’re keeping a running tally of which of our posts have been viewed and commented on the most. This helps you see at a glance where all the lively discussions are!
  • Due to a significant increase in “comment spam”, we’ve added a comment filter. If your comment does not show up right away, it may be held up so that we can review it before it appears.
  • To give you some idea of what we mean, we began counting comment spam about 2 months ago. Recently, the number of spam comments exceeded the number legitimate comments on this blog site… so, we’re announcing The Official Selling Among Wolves Spam Comment Counter. It is located at the bottom of this page and is updated in real time (hit “Refresh” or “Reload” in your browser to get the latest total!).

Feeds Feed Icon

  • If you’re using any sort of Feed Reeder or News Aggregator (such as Newsgator, Bloglines, Google Reader, etc.), you can incorporate our most recent posts using the RSS or ATOM feeds we offer.
  • We offer feeds by the category, by the month, or by tag. You can also keep an eye on comments for a given post via the comments feed for each post. (Neat stuff, huh?)

Social Networking & Bookmarking Sites

  • You may have noticed the new Digg tag at the bottom of each of our posts. This allows you to quickly and easily submit the entry to Digg.com so that other folks will have the opportunity to spot it and benefit from it!
  • Also, you’ll see the “Share This” button. This allows you to quickly forward a particular entry to a friend via e-mail, or send it to any of the following sites pictured below. (This is just a photo of what you’ll see when you click the “Share This” button on any post)
